About the role
Bromley Y is a long-established Charity based in Bromley that listens to feedback from Children, Young People (CYP), their families and/or carers as well as partner agencies.
Bromley Y is a Mental Health (MH) and Emotional Wellbeing Service based on the principles of iThrive and IAPT. We are very proud of all the services we offer, from 1:1 evidenced based interventions to group work, digital offers, webinars, mentoring and social prescribing.
Our organisation is evolving and growing and is looking for a new Chair of Trustee’s from January 2024. Our current chair, Stuart Robertson has been with the organisation for several years and has helped guide us through a new tender, the pandemic, expansion and development of the overall service and contributed to the excellent reputation that Bromley Y has in the local area and beyond.

Counsellor (Wellbeing Practitioner) x 2 posts

Salary:

FTE is £34,551.21 per annum to £42,910.38 per annum subject to experience

Contract:

Fixed Term Contract 12 months (could be extended)

Hours of Work

37.5 hours a week (full time), negotiable but a minimum commitment of 32 hours a week (flexible working arrangements)

About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to offer evidence based therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families (parents/carers). We are particularly interested in qualified practitioners with 3 years’ post qualification experience, with a BACP/UKCP accreditation and experience of working with younger children (5-11 years old) and their families (parents and/or carers) and with young people in youth work or other settings.

The successful post-holder(s) will be able to work creatively and independently with young people and families (parents and/or carers) to achieve their goals. They will offer individual and group interventions as required. They will empower families (parents/carers) and young people to manage complex situations and needs.

This role requires a minimum commitment of 32 hours a week. It may be suited to professionals seeking to work in the charity sector, with its dynamic, creative and caring environment. The post offers flexible working arrangements in line with business needs. The service operates 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday working.
