About the role
Bromley Y is a long-established Charity based in Bromley that listens to feedback from Children, Young People (CYP), their families and/or carers as well as partner agencies.
Bromley Y is a Mental Health (MH) and Emotional Wellbeing Service based on the principles of iThrive and IAPT. We are very proud of all the services we offer, from 1:1 evidenced based interventions to group work, digital offers, webinars, mentoring and social prescribing.
Our organisation is evolving and growing and is looking for a new Chair of Trustee’s from January 2024. Our current chair, Stuart Robertson has been with the organisation for several years and has helped guide us through a new tender, the pandemic, expansion and development of the overall service and contributed to the excellent reputation that Bromley Y has in the local area and beyond.

Practice Lead in the Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Service (MHEWS)

We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioner and supervisor to work within our service. You will have an ability to work within a team and to work independently. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and be an organised individual who can work creatively to develop and manage the day to day operation of the service. This an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced counsellor/therapist hoping to expand their managerial skillset to join our Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Services (MHEWS) team.

FTE salary banding is £43,467.66 per annum to £50,712.27 per annum dependent on experience

Working pattern:

Monday to Friday - occasional Saturday work may be required according to business organisational needs

About the role

The post holder will contribute to the development of early intervention and prevention service in Bromley for children and young people.

The post represents an opportunity for a qualified and experienced practitioner, with supervision and management experience, who is committed to the principles of CYP IAPT and THRIVE, to further their career.

The post holder will be jointly responsible for oversight of Bromley Y’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service (MHEWS) referrals, waiting list and allocations management, supporting practitioner standards through tracking and developing training based on need, conducting case auditing, line management and supervision in MHEWS as well as the co-ordination of multidisciplinary consultation meetings, therapeutic group interventions, and the development and implementation of therapeutic intervention projects including digital interventions and resources.

They will have skills in report writing including the gathering and presentation of data and information. This work which involves management of risk with colleagues will involve responsibility for particular client groups /intervention pathways.

One of the purposes of the practice lead role is to ensure that Bromley Y delivers, innovative and evidence-based interventions, with the needs of children, young people and their parents at the centre of our work.

They will deputise for the MHEWS Lead at network and partnership meetings.

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioner and supervisor to work within our service and as part of our Integrated Single Point of Access. You will have the ability to work within a team and to work independently. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills and be an organised individual who can work creatively to develop and support the management with the day-to-day operation of the iSPA. This an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced counsellor/therapist hoping to expand their managerial skillset to join Bromley Y.

We are looking for applicants who are knowledgeable and passionate about Bromley, with 5 years’ experience of working with children and young people.

The post involves line management and supervision of practitioners, working with colleagues to determine intervention pathways, manage risk and allocations, chairing consultation meetings and working with the partnership in Bromley as necessary.

The successful individual will work with people from various cultural backgrounds, ages and ability, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.

The successful post holder will work within the Bromley Integrated Single Point of Access (iSPA), delivered in partnership with Bromley CAMHS. The iSPA manages all referrals for children and young people with mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties in Bromley.

Your role within this team will focus on developing Clinical Practice within the iSPA and deputising for the iSPA managers to provide an efficient and effective service for children and young people. This will include ensuring high quality, safe and responsive risk assessments, screenings and interventions are provided to children, young people, parents/carers and professionals, who are referred to Bromley Y and/or iSPA.

This role will provide an opportunity to support the pathway between the iSPA and Bromley Y working collaboratively to ensure the journey for children, young people and their families (parents/carers) feels easy for them to understand and navigate.
