For Young People
We all need some emotional support at times and that is why we are here; to listen, guide and help you to feel happier and able to cope with life’s challenges.
"Our vision is one in which children can enjoy life growing up in their community.
Bromley Y promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children, young people and their parents/carers by enabling change, fostering resilience and helping them build healthy relationships. Our service aims to listen, respect, support and offer effective interventions to those in need, at the right time and in the right place.
We commit to working together with schools and other key providers to keep children and their family's needs at the heart of what we do."

The staff at Bromley Y are dedicated to promoting an environment of respect and appreciation for all marginalised groups.
"I am pleased to have made a positive impact on the work that’s already been done in the service."
"Being the youth ambassador for Bromley Y is a rewarding responsibility, as I am focused on ensuring the youth voice is represented in all that we do.
We are really interested in hearing the voices of young people. To do this we have been running youth mental health feedback groups in schools this is allowing us to listen to young people’s thoughts about mental health services in Bromley and how we can improve our service to suit their needs better.
Since I’ve been at Bromley Y, my role has developed into a community projects role. I am involved in lots of outreach activities at Bromley Y such as working with other teams like Bromley Youth Council.
Bromley Y has supported my training, and I am now qualified to practice therapeutic interventions and guided self-help. This has enhanced my skills and will enable me to support young people more effectively.
At Bromley Y, equality diversity and inclusion (EDI) is very important, to ensure that we are as inclusive as possible. I am involved with our EDI team, helping to bring other perspectives to the conversation as I am a care leaver who has experienced my own mental health difficulties.
I know how it feels to have had many professionals making decisions for me in the past, instead of listening to my voice and what was important for me. So, I firmly believe that having lived-in experience is key to give a different perspective and level of understanding."
