Bromley Y supports Bromley Youth Council

What matters most to young people in Bromley? We had the privilege of listening.

On Thursday 26th March, we were proud to support the Bromley Youth Council Manifesto event – a powerful day dedicated to amplifying young voices and shaping the priorities for the year ahead.

Our Mental Health Support Team Practice Lead, Carol Pinnock, joined the VIP panel to answer questions and engage directly with students – bringing vital conversations about wellbeing into the spotlight.

It was genuinely inspiring to see young people from seven secondary schools come together with such energy, insight, and purpose. Through workshops and collaborative sessions, they explored how to make Bromley a better place for young people to live, learn, and thrive.

One standout initiative? A youth-led podcast tackling real issues that matter:

Friendships

The impact of social media

Self-care

Addiction

Here are just a few powerful reflections shared by the young people themselves:

💬 “Trust & having respect for one another”

💬 “Don’t let friends stop you from being you”

💬 “Don’t give in to peer pressure”

These voices matter – and they deserve to be heard.  A huge thank you Bromley Youth Council for inviting us along to join in.

We’re excited to see how these ideas shape the future of the Bromley Youth Council activities.
